Everything You Touch Turns To Gold

For years, Isabelle thought that her mother was invincible. As brilliant a tactician as she was beautiful a woman, the Lady Chevalie was the envy of every room she walked into, and hardly at a loss for conversation. Isabelle dreamed of being like her mother, of being so universally adored. Of course, that was before the murder. The scandal rocked the upper echelon of Divinity's nobles, sparking gossip that seemed to go on for months. Isabelle's father was broken-hearted at the loss, never quite the same. For years, her mother's armor went unworn, left to tarnish in a dark room that was never to be touched. Isabelle forced herself to push her grief away, focusing her whip-smart mind on training for the Seraphs. After all, there was always a need for skilled men and women to protect the streets of the city they loved. Only after Isabelle's father finally passed away did the notes start to arrive. Written on smoky scented paper, always enclosed with a wax seal whose mark was unrecognizable, they spoke of a case that everybody had thought to be closed: the killer was out there still, if only somebody would look hard enough. Her armor fit like a glove. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The outfit title was inspired by 'Gold', by Imagine Dragons, and the outfit itself was just something cooked up on a whim after Isabelle hit her fourth birthday and got the Gold Fusion dye from the kit. I like to think it's somewhat more understated than the usual gold-and-red schemes I see... regal, without being flashy, much like Isabelle's mother was.
