Blood Sacrifice

Sometimes, true power is gained only from sacrifice. This Sylvari knows that well. Once, she was a spirited young Mesmer, interested in furthering her magical art in order to enhance her paintings and sculptures. When war came to Tyria, she gladly gave up her pacifistic ways in order to help save the lives of others. After all, so many potential artists could find their lives snuffed out too early by the Dragons. After the fall of two, the mage continued to push herself to greater heights, starting to leave her art by the wayside in preference of greater personal strength. After all, more trouble would be coming, and she'd need to be ready. When reports of a shattered bloodstone came, the Sylvari gladly volunteered to check it out. After all, refining those shards into weapons could prove the tipping point for the power she needed. When the sickness took her eyes, she gladly gave those up too. She wouldn't need to paint anymore, anyways. Her climb to the top had become an obsession... one the Fen only fueled. Sometimes, true power is only gained from sacrifice.
