A quiet lull before the storm, only disturbed by the satisfying clink of each clasp and fastener. Every strap and buckle gave him pause. It was time to plan, anticipate, and plan again for the specific sequence of events that had to occur for his business to go smoothly. Yet, every time he tightened the final pieces of his garb to his body, he always came to the same conclusion - there were only so many factors he could think of, and that preparation was the best assurance he can afford. As he stood to fix his rapier to his belt, he felt the most comforting sensation he would feel until his work was finished; the seamless fluidity of his body moving in tandem with the intricate, tailored puzzle-work that was his work clothes. The man stepped out of his safehouse to the warming wash of a late afternoon's glow. It was going to be a very, very long night.
