Ghost Flowers and Insect Husks

Yuureibana, Level-80 Sylvari Mesmer Head: Orchid Helm Shoulders: Orchid Epaulets Chest: Whispers Garb Legs: Carapace Pants Gloves: Nightmare Gloves Boots: Orchid Boots Back: Mawdrey (hidden most of the time since I like seeing her back patterns) Dyes: White Gold, Tarnished Silver, Midnight Olive Weapons: Ebonblade, Bonetti's Rapier/Adam/Whispers Secret Pistol --- Yuurei is the character that I had the hardest time coming up with a look for, going through around 4 different armor skin changes before I finally settled on this one. Unlike my warrior, I created her on a whim without much planning in mind. Trying to emulate the flower she was named after (hers is one of the many nicknames given by the Japanese to the Red Spider Lily), I initially gave her a red palette but found that it didn't work too well with her mesmer skills' color. I went through a few more armor changes after that until the Carapace armor sets got released (I swear those skins are a life-saver for indecisive people like me) and only then did I get a solid vision for her in mind. The light Carapace pants gives me enough detail to keep her looking interesting and it matches nicely with her footwear. On the other hand, the Whispers chest piece complements the pants nicely, and exposes a good part of her back (which I am a big fan of). This look still draws a lot from her name (Yuureibana = "Ghost Flower"), but on a more literal level, settling on a silvery palette that matches with her skin and doesn't clash too much with her mesmer skills. As I settled on this color, it became more apparent that she's to be the polar opposite of my warrior: a stark contrast, with her light skin, light armor, and more devious disposition. The overall result makes her look more like an insect husk than a flower, though. But, nonetheless, I've come to like it that way. (I seriously need to take more screenshots of her. Most of the ones I have don't really do her justice. ; _ ; )
